# RecordingTracerOptions

## Properties

### sampled?

```ts theme={null}
sampled?: boolean;
```

`false` makes every span non-recording (`isRecording() === false`), like a sampler dropping it. Default true.

### withSpan?

withSpan?: boolean;
```

Implement `withSpan` (the backend-context bridge). Default true.

### w3c?

w3c?: boolean;
```

W3C-shaped ids (32/16 lowercase hex, deterministic) instead of the short `t…`/`s…`
ones, so span contexts can be carried as a `traceparent` (checkpoints). Default false.

A W3C `tracestate` every span context reports (e.g. to test that it is carried).
