# SerializedMediaRef

What a provider writes for one `MediaRef` (`IProvider.serializeMediaRef`): JSON-safe,
versioned, provider-defined. It is read back from storage, so the provider must treat
it as UNTRUSTED in `rehydrateMediaRef` and validate it.
